We had such a fantastic experience during our stay at Ajisai and loved walking around in the supplied Yukatas! We really enjoyed the private onsen which we definitely made use of with our family, and the futon bed was extremely comfortable. Just note that it is a fair walk (especially if you have luggage), so best to take a taxi from Gora Station to get to the Ryokan.
We booked Deluxe room with tatami area and open air bath on lake side. Room is clean and has enough space for family. Hotel staff help to arrange futon in room during our dinner time. In room open air bath is really good. We also book private onsen 40 mins with additional 3,000 yen. It's clean and well equipped plus bonus for Dyson hair dyrer in private onsen. Location is convenience. Just 3 mins walk from Togendai port. Easy to travel to other area in Hakone & Gotemba outlet (direct highway bus from Togendai port around 40 mins).
Traditional Ryokan and enjoyed the free use of the Yukatas and private onsen (but get there early to book, we had a 10:15pm and 12:15am booking). Dinner and breakfast were beautifully prepared - just not to a western palette, especially if you don’t like seafood. Overall very glad we booked.
The hotel room was beautiful and quite large with good amenities and a quite stylish yukata compared to many other hotels. The futons are comfortable, and i would personally prefer them to many of the regular beds I have slept in around the world. The room is clean and the staff is helpful. The onsen in the hotel is pretty decent, but the onsen which is available for free at the neighbouring building is amazing. Also the town the hotel is located in is beautiful in the evening.
The views from the room were amazing. I loved the tatami mats and the traditional styling of the estate. The staff members were so kind and helpful. Thank you to Youko for servicing us during our stay. Please keep in mind what your expectation for a traditional ryokan room is going to be like. Some of the reviews claim that the furniture is old which I can agree with but it is a traditional Japanese inn and we found our room was spotlessly clean.
Staff very kind Transfer to gora station Traditional japanese dinner and restaurant Amazing onsen Room with futon and yukata and private bathroom Perfect position for Hakone tour
Good onsen Nice Japanese style breakfast Nice room -Japanese style floor Tatami and futon
Considering all the luxuries you get to enjoy in this ryokan, the price is actually agreeable! Both dinner and breakfast are extensive, the private onsen we had attached to our room was pure bliss and you even get your own yukata to dress down in while relaxing. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the location is right next to the cable car station so you can travel both up and down the mountain easily to go exploring.
Great place, two different waters in onsen makes it not only for relaxing but also healthy stay. All the procedures are typical for Ryokan, so it was a great (but not always known) experience for european person - rooms, shoes, tatami mats, yukatas - you have it all. But the highlight is food, awesome kaiseki style dinner and breakfast makes for a complete experience of traditional japan.
Loved the on-site onsen, the room was spacious, beautiful view, welcoming staff, loved the futons, bathroom, and complimentary yukata! Everything was beautiful and clean.
