This Vermont motel, located off Route 4, West Woodstock Road, is 8 minutes’ drive from Woodstock town centre and just 15 minutes' drive from the SkyeShip Gondola and Killington ski slopes and 30... Very well laid out. Nicely decorated, clean. Love the room key using code, and checkout by putting on the maid sign. Great recommendations for local restaurant, and the breakfast next door is amazing! It's about 13mins drive to Skyship Lodge, pretty convenient.

The owner was helpful directing us to local restaurants. He gave us a free night because his hot water tank was not functioning properly (the intense rain on Saturday flooded it). He was extraordinarily ethical! The room itself was large and spacious and had lots of seating.

A superb stay at this lovely LGBT-friendly motel in gorgeous Vermont during late September. A lot of love has gone into this motel and it shows - from the warm cinnamon welcome in the lobby to the exceptionally clean and tidy room. My mum and I stayed in the yellow sunflower room; a double with 2 big comfy beds and an ensuite bathroom (with toilet, sink and shower) and views overlooking the pretty front and back gardens - had the weather been better, we'd have been out there in the chairs soaking up the view! Our room had the self-catering essentials (fridge & microwave) along with a few complimentary snacks. Shelly was lovely to chat with and very helpful in recommending local eateries, supermarkets, and sightseeing - we initially came for the Robert Frost house but she suggested Hildene when we checked out (which we did visit and were thoroughly impressed by!) My mum and I slept brilliantly and despite being on historic route 7a, there was zero road noise. We stayed in several big name hotels during our holiday, and can honestly say that Governor's Rock Motel was one of the best stays of all! Nothing was too much trouble; comfort, cleanliness and friendliness was a major plus. An exceptional motel, would definitely return!! Thank you Shelly & Lisa for a fantastic stay 😊
