The rooms were very clean, room service and receptionist very helpful and professional too. Was able to get their help to call for taxi and for recommendations on food and attractions to visit. There is a laundrette just next door and a water dispenser machine within the hotel itself too.

The bed was really soft, the shower had great pressure and a big bathroom and the hotel provided nice amenities like free water, ramen and earplugs. The hotel was also in a great area, easy to walk to restaurants, buses to Taroko nearby and the night market also close by

Hualien Tourism Sugar Factory Hotel has free bikes, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Guangfu. The accommodation is exceptional, especially for the price. A renovated Japanese-style apartment, with option of beds or futon in the tatami room. There were two bathrooms, both beautifully done, and the nearby restaurant, while rather spartan in decor (it is also used for the breakfast room) served fantastic food.

Friendly staff. Good coffee machine. Very spacious room for three people. Convenient parking. Shops and restaurants nearby. Just a short walk from the Visitor Centre.

Don’t be deceived by the outside. This place is a little gem. You walk in and see things chic industrial hotel with funky things to look at. The reception / bar space is awesome. The staff were lovely too. The breakfast was very surprisingly tasty. We couldn’t choose what we ate but we loved it. They had some local art hanging on the wall. We bought a piece to remind us of our first night in Taiwan The location is a bit out of the main city but we had a walk around to find places to eat. The city with the hustle and bustle is probably 20 -30 mins away. Don’t regret this stay at all. We loved it. Can also rent bicycle.
