The house was built of Cantine nel'600 and site documents available is owned by the family since Del Zanna '700 We can show you a fascinating piece of history that we guard in our house. It is a manuscript dated 1757 that chronicles the judicial controvorsie between Simone Del Zanna and Olivetan monks of San Gimignano as a matter of felled trees along the border of the respective properties. Since 1985 the company is run directly from Pietro Del Zanna. Conducting 5 hectares of vineyards, the olive grove, the expansion of the cellar and the restructuring of funds and outbuildings have engaged in these 30 years to deliver what you can see. Since 2000 we have begun the activity of agriturismo with hospitality in apartments Segatoio and Stalla who has recently added the Attics apartment. From 2013 we offer the possibility of catering for a maximum of 12 people. For our guests prepare traditional Tuscan dishes using as much as possible our products (definitely wine, vin santo and olive oil) and at a short chain.
I was born in Siena on 19/06/1963. Graduated in 1984 at the Agricultural Technical Institute of Siena, specializing in Viticulture and Enology, I carry since 1985 the farmer activities. Ecologist convinced, in 1991 I was the first green city councilor in Poggibonsi, Deputy Mayor for Peace and International Cooperation of the City of Siena from January 2005 to May 2006, Minister of Energy, Agenda 21, Action for Peace and International Cooperation of the Province Siena from July 2006 to June 2009.
The history of the Valdelsa has its roots in the Etruscan, as evidenced by numerous finds (pottery, tools, necropolis) scattered throughout the territory. In the Middle Ages, with the construction of the Via Francigena, it became the economic and political hub of a vast area of ​​central Tuscany. The new pilgrimage route, which connected Northern Europe (France, Flanders, England and Germany) with Rome, the seat of the Papacy and one of the main destinations of medieval pilgrimage, gives an unprecedented impetus to the political, economic and social of all valdelsa, promoting the urbanization of the entire area. The original route of the pilgrimage, the oldest, as described by the Bishop of Canterbury Sigerico travelogue in 990, wound through the hills situated on the left bank of the river Elsa. This is how the churches, the churches (as Pieve a Chianni, Pieve of Coiano and Pieve d'Elsa), the guard towers, the castles and the first towns like San Gimignano and Borgo San Genesio.
