Such a great place to stay and check out Ruteng. Everything was made so easy by Jeff who picked us up from the bus, and organised onward travel. He welcomed us formally, talked to us about his culture and traditions and dinner with the others who were staying was really fun. The morning walk guided by Jeff through the river fields was beautiful too. 10/10 if you are interested in learning about Manggarai people and having a truly welcoming experience.

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Wow! I wish I could give this more stars!! We had a fantastic time with Jackie and his family staying on the Komodo Island 🤩 We would really recommend this for anyone wanting to see the island at a more leisurely pace. The room was lovely - there was a fan, a comfy bed and it was right on the water front of the village. Jackie and his wife were wonderful hosts and within the price you get 3 delicious meals a day! Jackie also organised for us to take a local boat with a local captain to see Manta Point/Pandar/pink beach - he's a local ranger so he took us around Komodo Nation Park (and even his own village) where we saw loads of Komodo dragons. We loved his stories and he spoke excellent English! It was the best experience we had in Indonesia so far ❤️ Some tips that we learnt: There is a public boat but it only leaves on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It's from the fish market on Labuan Badjo (if you go there the locals are really helpful). We paid 100k each. It leaves at 11am but we arrived at 9am - there are no seats so be ready to sit on the floor. It's a busy boat so we were squished like sardines. The boat takes around 4 hours and is loud but there was a toilet onboard. The return boat leaves on Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday back to Labuan Badjo. If this isn't something you're interested in, speak to Jackie as he'll arrange collection and drop off with you for a reasonable price (and it can work around your schedule). It's totally worth staying on the island - the views are amazing! Best sunset we've seen! You also see waaayy more dragons near the village than at the National Park (and there aren't many people) The boat Jackie organised for us was 2 million for the whole day! The captain knew exactly where to find the Manta rays and even came swimming with us. It was lovely to see the sights on our times so would highly recommend this :) we did the national park on the same day to only purchase the ticket once!

Just let him know what you prefer and he'll give you good suggestions. The homestay is really cozy. Food is fresh and delicious. People are friendly. Also if you are there in the weekend, they also organise a family dinner for all the guests to join. It was really nice.
Absolutely loved our stay! Felt at home the moment we met the people who owns the homestay. Everything was perfect!! Thank you
very nice family homestay where the family takes good care of the guests. its a bit outside of moni but I could lend the scooter to get into town for dinner, so that was not a big problem. the environment is lovely, lots of nature and concerts of crickets :) very nice breakfast and very cute dogs. I enjoyed my stay.
The homestay is located in the center with many food shops and everything you need around. Ricardo and his family are amazing, very kind and welcoming. It was a great experience to stay with and talk to the whole family including their children. I could also enjoy a nice breakfast before I left. You can also do tours with Ricardo or rent a scooter. I can only recommend staying here. Thank you :)
I really loved the viewpoint from the back of the home stay. Almost ready to have it the best to eat in home stay. ;) Jeff was passionate about the rice fields and loved helping out in ways he could. The women in the house working hard to make our stay comfortable even so it is a basic setting, and no hot shower which is fine to my standard . It’s a home stay that put me in touch with the rhythms of the locals. Early nights and early wake up with cockerel that reminds you’re on foreign soil 😂. An authentic stay 🙏🏽
Nice homestay, lovely hosts. Family dinner with other guests was a nice experience
Great hostel, beds so so comfy, close to everything, great pool to chill for sunset or even all day. Staff really really sweet
Jofan and his family are so lovely ❤️ This homestay really feels like you are home. Free coffee and tea, always time for questions, helpful for booking tours and also just for a chat. The food in the restaurant is also really good (try the gado gado or chicken porridge or the peanut cookies). I had an amazing stay!
We felt very welcome at the homestay and the family was kind and helpful. They helped us book a one day Komodo trip that we really enjoyed. There was also the option to rent a scooter. The room and bathroom are both very basic but overall clean.
Jeff is a lovely host that really immerses you in his culture. We ate in saris on the floor, walked around the rice fields at sunrise, and even got to sing with his family for the first communion of his relative. We felt like locals! His wife and the rest of the staff cooked us a delicious vegetarian dinner, and a lovely breakfast, in large quantities. Rooms were simple but clean.
