Charming old barn conversion in a lovely rural location Ideal for walking, birdwatching or just relaxing in the Shropshire hills. We had a 2 night stay at Alf's bull pen, everything we needed was there and some little extras which made for a fantastic short break.highely recommend will definitely be back. Russ and Jan Wrexham
A beautiful peaceful location, lovely view for miles. The farmhouse breakfast lived up to the expectation of a farmhouse breakfast and the owners were accommodating to my GF food choices
What a find!!...and more than worth the price. A lovely farmhouse building with nice views of the surrounding hills and countryside. Although the rooms are slightly small and the en-suite is a little tight, that is only to be expected in a farmhouse, but the shower was amazing, as was the breakfast. The hosts, Greg and Dawn, are really friendly and only too keen to help. Lovely high ceilings, but be aware, mind your head on the stairs!!
Alfs Bull Pen made For the perfect weekend Stay. The barn was incredibly clean and well equipped. There was Nothing the hosts didnt think of, the utility room was perfect to keep our muddy Kit after a gorgeous walk Up to Pole Bank and round the town. The Location was perfect! Highlights included the Super comfy bed we had an amazing sleep, the Stunning modern bathroom and the cute, friendly farm cats who stopped to say hi!
Stunning farmhouse with beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and lovely breakfast served by accommodating hosts .
A very nice old farmhouse with many original features and a welcoming atmosphere. Lovely thoughtful touches, such as earplugs for each individual guest because the location is next to a busy roundabout. There was milk in a mini fridge a good selection of hot drinks and a carefully curated welcome pack with taxi numbers, places to eat etc. I had a very good sleep, the bed was comfy and big. I got an upgrade to my room which I very much appreciated. I kick myself for not booking breakfast because the options looked amazing.
The hosts were warm and welcoming and made me feel right at home. The farmhouse is in a beautiful, peaceful rural setting. I was only there for one night but wish I could have stayed longer as it was so relaxing and lovely to be there.
The house was absolutely stunning, the surrounding scenery was lovely and so peaceful. The rooms were spotless and nicely decorated, whilst the bathrooms were modernised, the rooms and halls were kept to a traditional farmhouse style. The breakfast was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! The hosts were very lovely, we booked as a family of 4 but booking.com only notifed the hosts that 2 adults were staying, this didnt bother them at all. We would definitely stay again!
The farm is a perfect rural hideaway in a fine old Victorian farmhouse. Easy to find with good parking. Glorious views. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide choice - homemade granola and poached plums were particularly good. The room was comfortable and warm and the little touches, such as homemade biscuits and cake on arrival, made it even more special. Hosts were lovely - discreet but available, and nothing was too much trouble.
