The ancient Etrurian city of Perugia forms a unique and romantic pattern, and is surrounded by green hills. Take the escalators, go up to the Rocca, and admire the panorama of juxtaposed layers of churches and ‘palazzi’ built during thousands of years. Perugia’s Old Town still houses several hotels and restaurants that are centuries old.
The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to several important institutions, such as the renowned local university, the University for Foreigners, and other institutes. The International Journalism Festival, the Umbria Jazz, and the Eurochocolate Festival are major annual activities. Check the hotel availability in advance if you’re planning to visit Italy and Perugia around those dates.
Don’t miss the remains of the Rocca Paolina fortress and its underground medieval streets. Regarded as one of Italy's best buildings, Palazzo dei Priori encompasses the Collegio del Cambio, Collegio della Mercanzia, and the National Gallery. Trasimeno Lake is 22 km away.
Fontivegge Railway Station is outside the city centre, while San Egidio Airport is 12 km away. Whether you need a 5-star hotel or a historic guest house, check out the deals for Perugia accommodation on Booking.com!
It is a wonderful historic city. Although it is perched on high ground it is very accessible through public escalators in various parts of the city and with a minimetro from the Perugia station right up to the top at a very small price. Very convenient.

Nice , quaint city, the best was not having many tourists like nearby Assisi. many good restaurants to choose from (old city). being perched on a top of a hill , you need to be prepared to walk/climb quite a bit (but worth the effort)

Historic town with many historic buildings.
Historic town with many historic buildings. Easy to travel by mini metro and rail to Assisi. A shuttle bus operates to take visitors up to the old town. Lots of eating facilities and many restaurants. We used Perugia as a base from which we could visit Assisi.

A very picturesque, historical old town with plenty of cafes and restaurants; Uphill climb into the town centre is massively helped by the open air escalators and elevators; driving in the ZTL (very narrow streets) and parking in the centre is an issue (no possibility to book a parking space in advance) - but it may have been due to the increased inflow of tourists during the Umbria Jazz Festival

Perugia is not only a great city in itself but also a great base to explore the wonders of Umbria and even Tuscany. We had a week there and spent three days in the city itself sight seeing and shopping - highlights included the amazing new gallery, practically empty, the amazing Nobile Collegio del Cambio frescoed by Perugino, the medieval aquaduct that you can walk along and of course the Perugina chocolate factory (reached by Bus A from the Bus or train station if you don't have a car.) We also went on day trips to Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and Spoleto by bus or train. I will be back as there were many other places that I would like to visit and Perugia makes a convenient hub. We also always found welcoming restaurants to eat in the evening and even got quite a few new clothes.

Perugia is historically one of the most important cities in Umbria. Sights are well presented, museums and entrance fees are reasonable, mongo attractions are free. Restaurants OK. During the Umbria Jazz festival, the city is quite crowded, but the city is even more colorful.
Great location in center of historic city and very close to major sites and lots of restaurants. Hotel has lots of charm as the building is very old. Rooms are quant and smallish. Breakfast is very good, however only cold choices. From Perugia Central train station, take either bus or mini-metro (our favorite) to historic city center and then hotel is then just a few minutes walk. Using mini-metro between hotel and train station allowed us to explore other cities in Umbria
Loved everything about this place!
Location is extremely practical, right next to the heart of the old town. The hotel's private parking option makes parking so much easier.
Artin & other staff are very responsive & extremely helpful.
Our room, #8, was very spacious & had a balcony. Each room seems to have beautifully painted ceilings. Our bathroom was new. It was extremely quiet at night.
I hardly never give a 10/10, but it’s without any hesitation here.
Staying at the castle was the most amazing experience of our travel in Italy. The castle is incredibly beatiful and is located among the serene hills of Umbria. The owners are a very friendly and hospitable family. They cooked breakfast themselves every morning, made of ingredients grown and farmed at their farm. While we were there, the owners were getting ready to host a wedding, and i can't imagine a more romantic setting!
The hotel is modern with nice rooms and public spaces. The staff was very helpful and patient with our questions. It has a nice parking lot and is super convenient to the highway for touring around Perugia. Indoor swimming pool (5 euros extra + 2.50 for a bathing cap) is really great. Try the hydromassage if you can find the “on” button in the pool. Hotel restaurant is very good with friendly staff.
Staying at Primavera Mini Hotel means living an authentic experience in Perugia. You are in the historical city centre, easy to reach with a mini metro from the railway station (stop at Cupa, then take the escalator and you are 2 min from the hotel). You can enjoy all the suggestions provided with passion by the host. The rooms are curated and comfortable, well-equipped and really clean.
An ideal location right in the centre of the historic centre of Perugia. The family running the hotel went out of their way to be helpful and friendly and always helped with the parking of our car. Our room was ample and very clean and quiet. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main square and lots of good restaurants.
Stayed at about 10 different places on Italy this trip and this could be the most enjoyable. Spacious accommodation. It seemed the definition of villa living. Generous spaces, beautiful view, well-equipped kitchen, lovely bedroom with fireplace nook. "She said she felt like a princess here."
Wonderful location less than 10 min drive to Perugia historic district. Wonderful staff, spacious room with a wonderful view from our window. We had dinner at their restaurant and they were very accommodating to my wife’s dietary issues. Good was excellent. Plenty of free parking
Located near train station which is perfect for a day trip to Assisi. The host was very friendly and helpful but the thing that really stood out to us was the sparkling cleanness of the apartment (in fact the first in Italy we were able to walk barefoot comfortably).
All the staff were very friendly and super helpful. The room was spotless. The location for central Perugia was perfect, and the breakfast was the best we have had. Lots of fresh ingredients. Don't worry about parking - that is sorted by the hotel, albeit at a price,
staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was just what we needed and as described. the hotel has free car parking outside of ZTL which was important and is walking distance from perugia, so had a nice stroll into Perugia and it’s location is perfect.
The hotel is located in a really wonderful old street of Perugia. My room was on the 3rd floor, the view from my little terrace was breathtaking! The staff was really nice, the place is close to all the famous sights, transportation and grocery stores.
A terrific hotel, outstandingly run. Convenient to Perugia access from down hill parking lot, and still with great town location. Exceptionally clean with modern conveniences and excellent linens. Great views. Wonderful host - great communication.
Great views. Comfy beds. Spacious homely apartment. Superb location very near the hotel Brufani. Right in the old town of Perugia. Marco and Michele were perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful with local knowledge and advice.
Optimal location - very central. A lot of character in the hotel. Free parking pass available. Decent italian breakfast. Easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff gave tips on what to see in the city.
The Brufani is one of our favourite hotels that provides a touch of luxury and attention to detail without being ‘stuffy’. Choice in the breakfast room is exceptional.
I like to thank pawlo about avery thing he is a good man and give us advice what to do the room was clean like a 5star hotel the location 1mim from pjazza italy ths
Superb location. Easy walk into town and not far from mini metro. Loved the house, great start to our Italy vacation.easy access to train station by mini metro.
