It was one of the most amazing experiences I have had on vacation. It's more of a palace than a hotel. The pool area, the rooms, the architecture/design, also the quality of the food. The gardens, the breakfast inner court/patio left us speechless.

From the moment I checked in, the hosts’ Samantha and manager’s warm welcome settled me in so quickly, it was a feeling of coming home. A lovely big room awaited me with cool air circulating it. The tranquility and vast colours of the garden made for a beautiful dinner/lunch/breakfast setup. The food was fresh and tasty, breakfast was my highlight, made to perfection by the hosts. At dusk, the garden is lit with enchanting lights. Samantha provided me with a candle and outdoor lamp for me to continue my book read. I lacked nothing. If you want a place where it is you and the sounds nature with good wifi, away from the buzz of the city, I highly recommend Bab Al Samawy. My bed was so lush and comfortable, I will definitely book again.

The hot air balloon was really the highlight of our tour in Luxor. No one should miss it along with the visits to the Valley of the Kings, Queens and Hatshetsup Palace. Downtown Luxor was also a must-see specially the old market place and the Luxor Temple and don't forget about the local food.

Luxor's archaeological sites are the most impressive I've ever seen. They are spectacular.
I went in April, in spring, and the temperature reached 38 degrees Celcius. The locals told me that in summer the temperature will be around 50 degrees.
The population appears to be very poor and the city is poorly maintained.

So much !
So much ! Magic Carpet Tours were excellent, organising a wonderful balloon ride, a dreamy sunset felucca trip to Banana Island, an amazing driver called Hassim who took me to the Valley of the KIngs, Hatshepsut's Temple, Karnak, Memnon Colossi, Temple of Luxor, and didn't hurry me at all. He drove me to Aswan the next day via Edfu and Kom Ombo. Luxor is fabulous, busy, lots of street sellers trying to get you buy or ride in their horse carriage, but a polite 'La Shukran' (no thank you) was fine and they are just making a living like the rest of us! Nefertiti Hotel was a peaceful sanctuary, and I would not have missed Luxor for the world. Personal highlights: Karnak Temples and Seti's tomb at the Valley of the Kings - awe-inspiring.

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing.
The temples and archaeological sites are amazing. But beware of many people in Luxor trying to get you on the horse and cart, boats, sell you stuff, and who follow you around trying to con you. Dont be duped into going to the "one day a week" market that is a bazaar/shop in a dirty back street. If you dont buy anything they will demand 1000EGP anyway. The souk (market) is ok, but the harassment to buy is too much. I felt very uncomfortable after 3 days and wanted to get out of there

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history.
Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history. Karnak & Luxor temple and Avenue of Sphinxes on East Bank of Nile & Valley of Kings/Artists, Hatshepsut temple, Medinet Habu, Deir-el-madina on the west bank are the places we visited during our stay.
We didn't eat out as it was Ramadan and we wanted to be discreet with food when travelling to the sites.
We hired a guide through Aswan individual to drive and explain the significance behind the places we visited and hence, unsure as to how to travel otherwise. Having a car would be better, as the sites are spread across the city, but a cycle would do just fine.
It is better to start early in Luxor as it tends to get hot as the day progresses. So, we did most of our trips from around 7 till 2 and rested in the afternoons.
We really enjoyed our time in Luxor.
We loved everything since the arrival. We were received by very welcoming staff. The whole building had a unique arquitecture and decoration. Also the tour privided by the agency that works with them was fantastic, with a very knowledgable guide. The breakfast was one of the best of all i have had, with many varieties of food, fruits and juices, tea. The restaurant in the hotel is wonderful with a very typical Egyptial food variety and an amazing view of the Nile River, Luxor Temple and the landscapes of the Valley of the Kings.
The food was really incredible. They offered a typical Egyptian fare. The ingredients were all fresh and served promptly. A couple of times we needed a last-minute meal and they always happily accommodated us. Food was so good, we actually didn't eat anywhere else in Luxor. LOVED the roof top patio too. They also helped us arrange a couple tours and taxi rides which were all excellent. The location is ideal--right next to the market and a short walk from the temples. The Venus was so much nicer than staying at a big box hotel.
the variety of colorful and delicious breakfast was excellent daily we did enjoy eating breakfast under great vibe of wonderful music on live from the Egyptian pianist he was a true legend also I would like to say thanks to our server Madam Samah without her we did not know how to get our coffee ( coffee-late)yes indeed we appreciate every one whom we deal with directly once again all the staff was so friendly if we get another opportunity we will back to Ramses hotel
We're so glad we stayed in the quiet West Bank of Luxor at Malkata House. The balcony, food, and atmosphere were fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and ensured our stay, transportation, and activities were seamless. Wifi worked well and the apartment had plenty of space with picturesque domed ceilings. This was the first neighborhood in Egypt we felt safe and enjoyed walking around. Many locals expressed words of welcome when we did.
I picked the hotel for its convenient location. I enjoyed it so much because of the owner and staff. Food was excellent and generous. Also the room and outside sitting areas were so peaceful. Room was traditional Egyptian. It is a small hotel but central to everything. I could see the colossus of memnon from my room.
I stayed at five hotels on this trip. This was the lowest price. This was my favorite. I was very happy here.
This stay was amazing and saved my trip. the staff are wonderful people, the food is authentic home cooked Egyptian style food. the LOCATION IS PERFECT. I extended my stay for 2 extra nights because it was so nice being right next to Habu temple and the tombs of the nobles. Was also a joy to get away from the hassling on the other side of the Nile. It’s less of a hotel and more of a quaint Egyptian style bed and breakfast.
Location was great, every important place was near. The apartment is small but since Luxor is a city for exploring ancient history, you won't spend much time inside anyway. The hosts, Austin and Abeer are some of the nicest people we've met in Egypt so far and were very relaxed and helpful. The best part is the roof which is spacious, has a bar, a pool table and more. Definitely would recommend.
This boutique hotel is a wonderful gem on the west bank of Luxor. Its owner Sayed clearly takes great pride in taking care of his guests and in providing a tranquil oasis away from the busy city and sightseeing. We are vegetarians and the chef prepared the best meals of our entire trip in Egypt. All the staff take great pride in attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble.
I had a delightful 2-night stay at the Fontana Hotel in Luxor, Egypt. The ambiance was serene, the staff exceptionally welcoming, and the amenities exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, offering a perfect retreat after exploring the captivating attractions nearby. I highly recommend Fontana to fellow travelers seeking a memorable stay in Luxor.
Hotel is one floor of the building. Small and cozy with large rooms. Very helpful staff. Wonderful view from rooftop terrace and lunch options at rooftop restaurant. Excellent air conditioning. Location: right off the public ferry dock. Near small stores, pharmacy etc.
It’s Egypt don’t expect an immaculate and all new building for this bargain price.
The confort and pampering of this hotel is just what you need after a full day of sight seeing. It is a breathtaking beauty, superb location, outstanding quality of service, spacious rooms and fine dinning within hotel. Top favorite from our travels in Egypt. Don’t think twice, this is the one you want.
Beautiful smal/ familial hotel. Best place on the other site of the Luxor, ferry direct infront of the hotel. The Personal really helpful and friendly. The rooms Arena clean and have an awesome view. There is typical egypt food, that is delicious.
The location is great, nice view over the Luxor temple and the Nile, right above the tourist bazar and close to the Egyptian bazar. The breakfast was also quite nice, and the AC worked well. There’s a nice rooftop with a small pool.
Really nice hotel. Staff is super friendly and location is perfect: nice view on the Nile and close to city center. Rooms are very comfortable and breakfast was the best we had in Egypt. We would definitely come back.
It’s perfect for family traveling to Luxor.
The room had several beds and two televisions. The pool looked inviting and breakfast was nice. Good security and it has an atm machine for getting Egyptian Pounds.
Egyptian, central, clean, great staff and the views and food from top floor restaurant were very nice. One stop shop for us as also booked our Luxor and Cairo tours at the hotel and enjoyed them all.
The location was great for visiting Luxor and the pool was amazing! The hotel is very modern and luxurious - not dated like some of the other big brand name hotels in Egypt.
located next to Luxor temple
bedrooms facing the Nile are beautiful.
very nice garden and pool on the Nile
Very pricey for Egyptian standard ( rooms, drink, food)
