Bridge House Hotel & Silver Howe View Cottage is less than 5 miles from Lake Windermere and around 13 miles from Keswick. The castle has historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture and tapestries. Access is included in the bed and breakfast rate and the gardens can also be privately enjoyed by guests outside of opening times. Just outstanding! Room was huge and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was also great with good water pressure and temperature. Breakfast was wonderful, the breakfast room is just great. Walking through the castle gardens when regular visitors have left is very relaxing.

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake District scenery. I’d give the staff six stars if we could for making it an enjoyable and personal stay. Food is exceptional and a great value.
