Bridge Inn by Greene King Inns, hotel in Port Sunlight

A charming hotel steeped in history, set in the historical town of Port Sunlight, within easy reach of Liverpool and Chester, and just 5 minutes from the M53.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Simple but very comfy room (lovely bed) with all the facilities necessary. It's a bit quirky because its an Edwardian building (120 years oldish) with lots of the original features - lots of heavy, dark wood about and stained glass in every door. There was also a lovely smell of a coal fire in the lobby (not the bedrooms). Some of the corridor carpets might have been installed on new build! :-) The local area Port Sunlight - is great for an evening walk and architecturally very interesting. If you need a super new, anti septic hotel its not for you but if you want somewhere with character book it now.

Great history of Lever brothers and the establishment of Port Sunlight. The museum is definitely worth the visit as is the Lady Leverhulme Art Collection. Everything is easily walkable and food in the Bridge is above average.

We have been to Port Sunlight many many times and love the village. For people who have the time, try and book a walking tour of the village via the Port Sunlight museum, brilliant for an insight into the history of the place. The Bridge Inn is ideal for a drink or pub food. Hulme Hall have craft and flea markets every Sunday. The garden centre has a café inside and considerable plants available. There is a Port Sunlight museum which tells the story of Lord and Lady Lever and their dream to build this unique village. Peaky Blinders had Aunt Polly's house here. The major attraction is the Lady Lever Art Gallery, absolutely brilliant, especially for the Romantics artists.

Landed here as an emergency stop over with a absolutely no idea what the area had to offer. What a lovely place it is though! Clean and tidy with picturesque buildings, lovely walks and finding some deck chairs on the village green(assume) was so lovely. We only wandered about for 1 afternoon but it was very beautiful.

The cottage was very conveniently situated near to the railway station, especially if travelling by public transport. Also close to every part of Port Sunlight, making it easy to visit all areas of this unique village. Port Sunlight is such a fabulous and picturesque Village - a photographer's dream! A step back in time to life in the 1800s. James was an amazing and generous host and his home is delightful and very comfortable indeed. We plan a return visit in the future.

Nothing to do with the property as didn’t want to judge it based on Booking.com telling me I had a confirmed booking but when I turned up the hotel said they can’t see my name on the system and “sorry but we are fully booked up”. Only joy was not being charged for it. Wasn’t best pleased.

The staff were very friendly and the location is excellent. It was excellent value for money. We had a large room and comfortable bed. The furnishings are a bit tired but that was not a problem for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Port Sunlight is well worth a visit.

A beautiful stylish and historical home. Very comfortable. The owner was exceptionally helpful. Great location to explore Port Sunlight. A must for fans of architecture (and soapmaking). Very handy to have a drive way to park in, next to the house.
