Desert Private Camps -ShootingStar Camp has 2 Double door tents with a seating and dining area and 1 bathroom with a shower. It is 30 km to the village of Bediyah, in the middle of the Wahiba Desert on top of the dunes, with views of the sunset and sunrise.

We had a wonderful time. We chose to spend one night here and one in a different kind of accommodation in Wahiba Sands and it was perfect that way, exploring different aspects and views of the desert. The drive is a bit adventurous, however we felt safe as we had a guide to reach the camp from Bidiyah who helped us when we got stuck with our car. The camp is truly on top of the dunes. If may not be the best one if you want to do lots of sand boarding as the individual dunes are not that high but the view is amazing. The food we had was one of the best in all our Oman trip!

Any other activities, such as wandering around the sand, hiking, nearby cities, visiting heritage sites, sand skiing, camel riding, desert safaris, desert trips, camping and other activities at an additional cost.

This is such a nice place and totally recommended to anyone visiting Oman. Best way to enjoy camping in the desert with a bit of comfort. You can see people complaining about some things that don't make any sense, such as mosquitoes. It's the desert, after all. Just remember it's a camping in the dunes and enjoy the experience. It was very pleasant to sit by the fire after dinner and have a enjoyable conversation with some locals and other visitors. I had almost forgotten how amazing the sky looks like at night when city lights aren't there to spoil the view. The owner is such a character and very helpful.

The camp is simple but well set up and has good facilities. The tents are basic but comfortable and the location is spectacular. Staff were very friendly and helpful and good at dinner and breakfast was simple but very good and with lots of choice. The atmosphere is magical especially at sunset and sunrise, and the remote location (45 min drive through sand) makes it very peaceful. Please note you can easily drive yourself with a 4x4 by using OSMAND maps

Nice camp just outside the village, overlooking the valley. Easy to reach by 4x4. Tents with good beds and outside toilet and shower. Breakfast and dinner was good and the meat freshly prepared. Especialy the desert tour is a must. They take you further out in the desert with magnificent views, where you experience the magnitude of the place. Staff and owners are really nice and accomodating. Open fire after dinner and fire works and freshly baked cake on New Years eve.

Everything was amazing, just remove your shoes and enjoy walking in the sand. Perfect place for watching sunset from sand dunes nearby. Bathroom is outside the tent, water was almost boiling during the day time, but after sunset got colder which make sense since u are in the desert. Love the common area with oriental carpet and pillows. Food was really nice. Staff was all the time smiling and helpful. Camp offer transfer and a lot of activities.

Unbelievable location in the dunes of the desert, very practical tents with all you could wish for in a tent (of course, it is no hotel room, but you don‘t go to the desert for a hotel right?), very very friendly staff, our needs and special requests were cared for immediately. The food is delicious and more than anyone could eat. We also liked that you pay when you leave, including all the activities - so during the stay there is no talk of money :) a nice change!

Good choice for an overnight desert stay. Lovely sunset and sunrise. They have goats and camels (you can ride one for an extra charge) and the photos we saw of their lunch desert excursion looked excellent. The breakfast and dinner was among the best we had in Oman despite being in the most remote setting. If you have a 4WD you can follow them and drive yourself in convoy to the camp. You can still just about see the town from the camp but it still feels like you’re out in the desert, which is a must-do at least once in Oman.

We enjoyed the quietness and magnificent views of the desert, and the friendliness of the staff. We enjoyed staying 2 nights at the camp, as this gave us the opportunity to fully enjoy a trip deep into the desert. As the camp is located up on a dune, one can enjoy sunrise and sunset from your tent, without having to climb up the dunes.
