Far away from every thing. But fantastic to make a rest. Calm. Relaxing.
Located on the coast of Alentejo, this guest house is housed in a typical rural building from the 1940s. It features an outdoor pool and is a 4-minute drive from Praia da Zambujeira do Mar.

Spent just one night here while hiking but it was a lovely little town. It was off season (March) but there were still some great restaurants open - would highly recommend Odesos, some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The surrounding area and coastal hikes are stunning!

Zambujeira do Mar is a great place for someone looking for peace and quiet. There are some tourists but the town is really small with limited accommodation capacity, so the number of people is not overwhelming. Also, a lot of Portuguese spend their holidays there. There’s a few restaurants to choose from, all quite good. Zambujeira do Mar is a small town, so everything is within a short walk distance. I think there’s no ATM there so it’s good to have some cash (if you like to have it with you).

Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August.
Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August. The village is an overnight stay on the Rota Vicentina, Portugal's long-distance coastal footpath, so there are good walking opportunities. On the two nights we were there we ate at Restaurante Rita. The food is good, but its main attraction is the great view of the stunning sunsets. Pretty well everything in the village is within walking distance so find a place to park your car and leave it there! Non-Portuguese should be aware that this is the Atlantic coast. The sea is cold!

In mid June (2019) the town was still very quiet, though most of the restaurants were open for business. When I went to the beach at 10 am i was literally the only person on the beach, despite it being a cloudless sky and warm sunshine. Most of the other visitors to the town seemed to be hikers walking the "Fishermen's Trail".
I only had time for one meal, but I am very happy with my choice. The restaurant called Sol Dourado, Rua da Palmeira, Lote 43. Try the Sopa de Cação (€13.50) - a large serving, probably enough for two people.

It is isolated but still very near the incredible beaches of the Costa Alentejana and other facilities.
The staff was very nice, not intrusive at all and very respectful of our privacy (they even checked the best hour to clean the apartment). They brought fresh bread every morning, very much appreciated.
It was very clean and well decorated, and had everything we needed.
Very quiet and peaceful location in a beautiful region. It is perfect to spend some relaxing days.
Absolute surprise. We were just killing time and looking for a convenient location as we were on the road. It was an absolutely beautiful property set on a working farm, secluded but close to town and utterly quiet. We weren't prepared for the beauty of the place and the comfort of the room, or the full breakfast with any option you could imagine. The staff was remarkably friendly, as I should say everyone we talked with in Portugal.
An exceptional countryside hotel in a beautiful location, close to the sea. Our room was in a typical Alentejo cottage situated a short distance from the main building. It included a convenient kitchenette. Well decorated and very clean. The service was very good indeed. Very tasty, generous-sized and reasonably priced meals of fine local Alentejo food were served in the restaurant. Breakfasts were good.
Really sweet small local hotel with the most nicest host, when they welcome you with the words "welcome home" it's not exadurating, you really feel like at home at this cozy place. Not mentioning complimentary coffee, laundy service and more, also its very tastefuly put together. As a bonus you will get a lot of great recomendations for what to do in the town and surroundings 🌊
The space was easily accessible from the main part of town and Rota Vicentina trail, close to good restaurants and coffee. We loved having access to the kettle, and appreciated being able to check out a little later. Our host graciously helped us book a taxi when we were having trouble; we really appreciated this and hope to return!
Our stay was perfect here, the treat was incredible. The owner makes amazing breakfast every morning and she’s on every detail. The place looks really nice and the bedrooms are just as the pictures. We would love to come back here. Location to center and beach is really close, there is parking space, it’s clean and comfortable
Very nice, simple, clean hotel, with very friendly staff. I stayed in a family room, as that was the only one left, which was large - the "kids'" beds, tucked away behind a glass door. Kind of standard three-star hotel breakfast. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and the beach.
Herdade Amalia exceeded our expectations. The location is outstanding, especially if you love beautiful beaches, hiking and stunning sunsets. Antonio is a true gem; he and his staff are wonderful hosts. The bed was very comfortable and the food was delicious. We will be back!
the bike trail was really cool
the secluded beach was EXCEPTIONAL!
n yes the hike down is a bit scary but REALLY FUN AND TOTALLY DOABLE!
Breakfast was good too
Best vegan burger for lunch
Farm animals around are cute too
very peaceful and quiet
Room was very clean and quiet
It is located just off the Fishermen’s Trail and good location if stuck for accommodation in Zambujeira do Mar. Facility was still not fully operational for the season so the reception lady kindly made me an omelette for dinner.
EVERYTHING! The decor, the pool, the breakfast, the view, the host. This was our 15th place to stay in the past 22 nights in our whirlwind tour of Spain and Portugal. It was the BEST place by a long shot!
