A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season.

A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season. We visited in February so almost everything was closed. It was lovely because there were no tourists and you could easily find a place in a restaurant (although it wasn't that easy to find an open restaurant). The center still has the feel of an old-type fishing village with tiny cute white and blue houses, but you can see and feel the pressure of the modern beach town which is just behind the old city center. Great beaches and amazing cliffs add to the attractiveness of Porto Covo both in winter and in summer.

Gorgeous spot to visit if you want to stear away from big crowds. Views are breathtaking with a bunch of beaches connected by caves and grottos. There really isn't much else there. A small little village with some eating facilities and a small supermarket. It's a perfect spot for one day and night. The fact that you can park your car wherever you please is also very nice.

Great location for beach goers, with multiple pristine, gorgeous coves in close walking proximity. Friendly staff; we were upgraded to an ocean front view room and they were able to accommodate our request for a late checkout, last day of our trip so we were able to enjoy the beach before our long flight home. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and offered many options. Our trip included stays at 5 hotels, this was the only one that actually had a stocked mini fridge.

Porto Covo is an attractive little town with a small fishing harbour. The Main Street has a lot of very touristy shops. A fair choice of restaurants to eat in but nothing special. It was easy to get to using the very efficient Portuguese bus service and a good place to start walking the Rota Vicentina.

    Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant.

Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant. Lovely little local fish and fruit market open in the mornings only. No main supermarket that I could see, only small local ones. But a beautiful beach and cove.

Sweet town, but very touristy feeling.

Sweet town, but very touristy feeling. Tour buses dropping people in, and the restaurants felt geared for tourists too. (though check out the pizza place in the main street, excellent). Great view from the coastline but not a swimmable beach. Really central to some great day trips, but I think there are better towns in the area for a longer stay. Check out the horseriding nearby, excellent.

This cute little property was the perfect spot in Porto Covo! The host was amazing and left us some fresh bread and wine, which was so sweet. There's plenty of amenities at the house you can use, including coffee and a beach umbrella! The balcony is so nice with an ocean view. The A/C works SUPER well, it kept us frozen. Bathroom is great, awesome water pressure and lots of towels. The host recommended some awesome restaurants and there's a grocery store nearby. All in all, a really nice little place with everything you could need!

Great space, quiet location yet 5 minutes walk to ocean, to market, bus stop and cafes. Luis was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. His English was very good which helped me! The kitchen had all I needed and I was pleased to have a washing machine (soap provided) and clothesline access. There was plenty of space in bathroom and a nice little table and chairs as well. Wi-Fi worked best of any place I stayed in my two months of travel.. it was a perfect respite after hiking south to north on Fisherman’s Trail.

The location was STUNNING. It's right on the water, we could see the sunset from our room, and the coast is gorgeous, quiet, and easily accessible from the room for peaceful walks and exploration. The room itself was rustic but well taken care of. Excellent water pressure, hot water, and WiFi worked well. The bed was also comfortable. The best thing about the room was that you could literally hear the waves from your window, it was so peaceful and the best night's sleep we had in portugal!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here in Porto Covo. The breakfast was incredible, mostly organic, and the rooms are really comfortable and quiet. Perfect base to explore some of the Rota Vicentina and the nature parks nearby. Andre helped arrange a yoga class on their patio before breakfast which was a great way to start the day. Parking was easy and there are a number of great restaurants in town (make sure to show up early to put your name in at Ze Ignacio!). Definitely recommend!

It was my second time in this place. Host as always was very helpful, I will recommend this place in Porto Covo to all people walking Rota Vincentina. You will get a lot of helpful tips in relation to the trail and village. Hostel is tiny but very clean and with cool roof terrace where you can chill and eat your meal. Very good restaurant (recommended by host) is 2 minutes from the hostel. You can reach by food also nice mini market, bakery and several beaches.

Recently renovated apartment with a well equipped kitchen. Great location, just 2 mins walking from the town's main square and 5mins walking from the closest beach. Next to a small square with some parking space. Beds were comfortable, though a bit hard, which might not please everybody. Host was very nice and quick to reply.

This is such a sweet little apartment in the heart of Porto Covo. It is extremely well equipped and had everything we needed. It is in town and one can easily walk to all the restaurants and beaches. There is even a local bakery down the road. We found a parking right in front of the apartment which was extremely convenient.

The room was really clean and spacious. It was very quiet during the night and the bed was super comfy so I had a really good sleep. There was complimentary bottled water which you don't find at all hotels anymore, and there were some homemade cookies with it! :-)

This is a stop on our way to Lagos. The village is small but the beach scenery is very nice. It is worthwhile to make a stop here. The location of the hotel is a new development and all the houses look newly built. Our room on the contrary looks very old fashion.
